Welcome to The Make A Christmas, Make a Difference a Non-profit organization. We have been serving the Greater Hartford community for over a decade. Our community  programs and youth initiatives are designed to help those in need especially during the holiday season. We do not require that you belong to any particular religious affiliation or financially support our organization in any way. We do ask that you return one good deed with another and perform an act of kindness. This way, the cycle of compassion and goodwill continues indefinitely.

What is the “Make A Christmas” program?

Make A Christmas started as a high school project that turned into a dedicated commitment to others. In the fall of 2001, Raju (RJ) Gomes’, a then senior at Manchester High School, was assigned a project to do something charitable to benefit the community. He took action and gathered volunteers, business owners and even local politicians to help him as he hosted a special Christmas dinner celebration at his father’s restaurant for a few of the Greater Hartford area shelters.  The impact of this project was quickly
transformed into a yearly tradition that our  area shelters have grown to depend on. In recent years the program has been held at  Caveys French Restaurant (Manchester, CT) with well renowned chef Jeff Thompson  sharing his skills to create an amazing Christmas feast. This year is promising to be  even greater with the gracious sponsor of the Manchester Country Club. Jeff Thompson, now with October Kitchen, will be returning again to prepare the food, as toys, clothes, books and more are passed out by Santa and his helpers.

This holiday season you and I have the opportunity to help our neighbors and Connecticut citizens who struggle to overcome unexpected circumstances due to economic distress to make a difference through kind donations.
